Mac Dashboard Widgets for Travelers

In my opinion, the best feature on my Apple DashboardDashboardnoteboook is the Dashboard for its sleek design, functionality, and ease of use. My husband, who is lagging behind me in the world of Windows, is envious of many of my Dashboard Widgets, particularly those useful for travelers.  This a list of my top five favorite Mac Dashboard Widgets for travelers:

1. The Mac's Translator Widget was developed last February and is considerably less clunky than the Google translator. While the sentences may not come out squeaky clean, the meaning is usually clear. In addition, the Mac's translator offers translations between two languages in more than 50 languages including Arabic and many Southeast Asian languages.

2. The Time Scroller offers you the chance to scroll through four different time zones of your choice. This makes it easy to arrange meetings abroad and international conference calls.

3. The Flight Tracker lets you track your flight by airline or city. I haven't used this yet, so I can't report directly. However, there have been some bugs in Tiger that seem to have been cleaned up now.

4.  The Currency Converter Widget is so much cooler than Universal Currency Converter because it gives you the chance to convert between up to five different currencies at one time, letting you plan for your trip that much faster.

5. Finally, there is the Apple TV Widget, which lets you watch 9 news stations streaming. Of course, Apple is politically correct, so you get some different perspectives including Aljazeera, BBC News, and France 24.
