The iPad is now becoming so popular that one machine is not enough for some households. A newspaper recently reported that children as young as 1 are now using this Apple product.

Some parents are considering purchasing an additional tablet this Christmas. They are doing this in an effort to stop their kids from fighting over the one they already have. In the past Apple marketed its products towards young professionals who worked in the arts. However it may be time for Apple to rethink their marketing strategy. Surveys have revealed that the iPad is the most coveted Christmas gift for children between the ages of 6 to 12.
While the youth market presents Apple with tremendous sales opportunities, there are some hurdles they will need to overcome. The first is setting a price which parents can live with. Apple products have always been more expensive than other brands. It is unlikely that parents will fork out for two iPads when they can get a cheaper tablet from another brand.
Critics have called tablets a "digital pacifier". They believe that parents are simply giving these items to their children in order to avoid doing any real parenting. However this is a complaint that people have made about television for many years now.
The reality is that more and more kids will start using tablets in the future. This is because the touch screen feature makes them very easy to use. The abundance of fun applications and games will draw children to these devices.
